IS 100+ WOMEN WHO CARE FROM THE 618 A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?
No. We are simply a group of women who come together four times a year to help support local non-profit organizations. There are no membership dues and 100% of our donations go directly to the majority voted non-profit. The 100+ Women Who Care from the 618 does not directly take payments, but facilitates all checks written directly to the non-profit organizations.
ARE ALL THE NON-PROFITS NOMINATED VETTED?
We make sure that every non-profit organization nominated is registered in the 618 area code as a 501(c)(3) and they provide services to the counties in the 618 area code.
HOW LONG DO MEETINGS LAST?
We allow 45 minutes for registration and socializing before each meeting and the meeting itself is one hour. Registration opens at 5:15 pm and we promise to have you moving towards the door by 7:00 pm.
WHAT IF THE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION CHOSEN TO RECEIVE THE IMPACT AWARD IS NOT MY FIRST CHOICE? DO I STILL HAVE TO DONATE?
Yes. One of the requirements for membership is that you agree to donate to whichever organization receives the majority vote.
WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND A MEETING?
The organization benefits from having as many people as possible attend our meetings. But if you can't be there, no worries. If you are unable to attend a meeting, you can give your check to a member to deliver on your behalf, mail to us, or make other arrangements ahead of time.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A DONATION?
The only obligation you have as a member of 100+ Women Who Care from the 618 is to honor your commitment to write your $100 check each quarter. If you skip a quarterly donation then you will not be able to vote at the next meeting. In addition, only members that are current on their donations may nominate a non-profit. If you skip two quarterly donations in a row, it is assumed you no longer wish to be a member and we will remove you from our membership list.
CAN I JUST SEND MY $100 DONATION TO THE NON-PROFIT MYSELF?
No. The goal of the 100+ Women Who Care from the 618 is to make a large donation on behalf of the group. We want to be able to support this endeavor and give $!0,000 or more at a time to make a large impact in our community, with each member's donation being a part of the collective give.
IS MY DONATION TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
Charitable donations to 501(c)(3) organizations are tax deductible, but we encourage you to contact your tax advisor or visit the IRS website for further information.
